ORIGIN OF MOISSANITE
* In 1893, the French chemist Dr. Henri Moissan discovered in the crater of the Déabro Valley a combination of carbon and silicon particles of exceptional brilliance, the appearance and internal crystallization of which resembled those of diamonds.
* In 1995, Charles & Colvard ('CC USA') successfully simulated the natural growth environment to produce a nearly colorless moissanite gemstone, which was certified by the GIA American Gemological Authority and has the same strict GRA standards for color identification as real diamonds.
